Leg 1: Nanaimo to Comox

Course length:  37.4 Nautical Miles
Start Time:  0900 Hrs.

Start Line:
Divisions 2 & 3 shall start in the area immediately east of Angle Point on NewcastleIsland. The start line will be between an orange inflatable buoy anchored near the shore of Angle Pointand the Nanaimo Yacht Club Race Committee boat. All divisions will start at the same time in separate start areas.

Section 1: Georgia Strait
Deep water, good wind.

Finish:
The finish will be a line between an orange inflatable buoy on the Race Committee Vehicle in the vicinity of Deep Bay to the Chrome Island light.The bearing to the orange mark will be 218o Magnetic .As soon as boats cross the finish line, they are to power directly to Comox.

Post Finish:  Approach to Comox.
NOTE: Boats are prohibited from transiting over the Denman Island Ferry crossing when the ferry is in operation. Lights have been installed on the terminals on each side of the channel at Buckley Bay and Denman Island. Red lights indicate the ferry is in operation and vessels must wait until the lights change to green.
